Mercedes’ 2023 Formula 1 car has more than one weakness and a clear deficit to the class-leading Red Bull, but there’s a specific issue that Lewis Hamilton has been struggling with. It stems from a design choice Mercedes made for the start of the new technical rules last year and, despite that car being a bit of a dud too, kept for 2023.
