Formula E racing is intense. There are hundreds of overtakes per race, lap-long side-by-side battles, massive lunges for position, and, yes, the odd crash.
And—as I found out when I drove one—the cars are a bit of a handful.
But really, Formula E takes what’s best about old-school racing—challenging circuits, not that much aerodynamic grip—not that much mechanical grip either—and combines it with a motor that produces a good amount of power and an incredible amount of torque.
And it's about to get even faster with the introduction of their Gen3 Evo car. This machine isn’t just quick—it accelerates faster than an F1 car and can hit speeds of up to 200 mph. It’s a significant leap forward for Formula E.
So, how is this thing quicker than an F1 car?
